Jools,
apologies for the delay in getting back to you. As a commercial heavy horse business most of my work is forestry based, but I have always carried out a lot of land and tillage work also such as ploughing, tilling and sowing - hay mowing, corn cutting and fertiliser spreading using the horses.

Since I have moved to Athenry I have secured a number of timber contracts but also ploughed an acre of ground to grow some root crops for the horses and vegetables for myself.

should i just hang up my wellies now....??!!!

HELP .....!!! where did i go wrong?
i decided this evening that seeing as i'm cooking what my hubby (who is a chef) calls a 'mammies dinner'.........i.e. ribs, cabbage and spuds.... that i should dig out my early spuds. But, ooops.... we did well to even get some.
I grew them in tyres and put 4 seed potatoes in each one at the start. They seemed to be thriving and didn't get blight as i was religiously spraying them and also lovingly swatting the flies off them.
